A bridal hair and makeup trial is a run-through of your wedding day look before the wedding. You sit in the chair, we design your hair and makeup together, and you leave knowing exactly how you will look and feel on the morning of your wedding. It is one of the best things you can do for a calm, confident wedding day, and it is where most of the magic actually happens.
For most people, yes. A trial takes the biggest unknown off your plate. Instead of hoping your look works, you know it does. We test what flatters your face, your dress, and your skin in real life, not in a saved photo. We find out how your hair holds curl, how your skin wears makeup through a long day, and whether you want more softness, more structure, more glam, or less.
It also makes the wedding morning faster and calmer. Once we have your look mapped out, the day of goes smoothly because the plan is already set. You are not making decisions in the chair on the most emotional morning of your life.

A trial is relaxed and collaborative. Bring your inspiration photos, your veil or hair pieces if you have them, and an idea of your dress neckline. Then we build your look together. Here is roughly how it goes:
We schedule your trial after you have booked us, so your date and your artist are locked in. For most brides, a trial two to three months before the wedding is ideal. Your hair length and color are close to wedding day, your dress decisions are made, and the look is fresh in everyone’s mind. If you have an engagement party, a shower, or bridal photos coming up, a trial beforehand lets you use the look for that event too.
A trial is a full hair and makeup service, so it is priced like one. In Southern California and Colorado a bridal preview is $525, and in Northern California it is $675. It is not a discounted preview or a quick test, it is the real thing, with the same artist who will be with you on the wedding day. That continuity is the whole point: the person who designs your look is the person who recreates it.

Build your wedding day estimate

Do I have to do a trial? No, it is optional. But most people find it is the single best way to feel certain about their wedding day look, especially if you have specific goals or nerves about your hair.
Will the same artist do my wedding? Yes. Your trial is with your wedding day artist, so the look you design is the look you get.
What if I want to change something after the trial? That is exactly what the trial is for. We take notes, and small refinements before the day are welcome.
How long does a trial take? Plan for a relaxed couple of hours so there is time to design, live in the look, and adjust without rushing.
When you are ready, check your date and we will take it from there.
