I still remember Lindsey’s first call. I was at my desk working from home when my phone lit up with a 218 area code. I get calls from all kinds of area codes, but most of my clients are getting married on the West Coast. This one was different. Lindsey was planning a wedding in Duluth, Minnesota, and she needed help with her wedding hair and makeup.

After our first call, I had a good read on Lindsey and how she wanted her wedding day to feel. She described the look she wanted as simple, elegant, a little boho, and very natural. More than anything, she wanted to look like herself on her wedding day, just the best version, and she wanted to have fun with it. She’s laid-back by nature, but she wanted the whole day to be stress-free, and up to that point she’d been feeling unsure about the beauty side of things.
I sent her a few artists in the area that I thought would suit her and set her up with a trial. She loved it and decided to move forward, so I handled the booking and payment with the artist. That’s one of the things I take off your plate as your beauty concierge. Deposits, due dates, and contracts get confusing fast, so I track all of it while you enjoy being engaged. Once the deposit was in and the contract was signed, she was set.

A Bump in the Road
About a month before the wedding, Lindsey wanted a second hair trial to try a different style. That’s common and never a problem. But right around then, her original artist had a health issue come up and was no longer available for the wedding. For most brides that’s a panic moment. It wasn’t for Lindsey, and that’s exactly why she hired me. As her concierge, I guarantee an experienced, well-matched artist no matter what happens. If an artist can’t make it, I bring in another one, and you never have to worry about it.
So that’s what I did. I set her up with a new artist, she did the trial, and she loved her even more than the first. From there it was smooth sailing. She had herself plus nine others in the chair on the wedding day, starting at 6:00am and wrapping at 11:00am. Everyone was thrilled with their look, and from the photos, they clearly had a blast.
