Postponed Your Wedding? Here Are 4 Ways To Get Excited About Your Hair and Makeup

We all know that life happens and sometimes original plans don’t work out. Whether you’ve had to postpone your wedding due to unforeseeable circumstances (i.e. COVID-19) or the timing just doesn’t work out for family members to come, you still want to enjoy the wedding planning process. For most brides, the excitement of hair and makeup comes around the time they are doing their trial, as that’s the time they will see their vision come to life. With a postponed wedding, a trial is often postponed to a later date as well, which leaves a lot of time for the bride to go until she sees her wedding hair and makeup day look. However, a postponed wedding day and trial doesn’t mean you can’t get excited about your wedding day look, so here are some ways you can still enjoy the beauty process even if your wedding plans have changed.

Research Hair + Makeup Looks

If you are unsure of a specific look or style you are thinking for your hair and/or makeup look on your wedding day, this is the perfect time to research and narrow down some options. This is the perfect time to go through your hair and makeup artist’s IG and narrow down which looks they have done that you like and want to emulate. That way when it comes time for your trial, you are excited about trying out the looks and ready for the experience as well.

Do A Beauty Session For Your Original Wedding Day

A great way to celebrate your original wedding day is to do an in person beauty session with your hairstylist and/or makeup artist. You could get pampered and do a date night with your fiance and still make the original date a day to remember. If you aren’t able to do an in person beauty session, since it’s a destination wedding for you, you could still do a virtual session where your artist walks you through step by step a specific look you are wanting to try. This way you can learn how to achieve the look yourself for future events too.

Send A Gift To Your Party Members

While it’s your wedding day that got postponed, the services for your party members are also getting postponed. A fun way to keep the excitement going would be to send your bridesmaids a gift centered around beauty so that when the day comes their hair and skin are ready. You could send each a lipstick that you want them to wear on your wedding day, a hair mask to restore and replenish their hair or treat them to facials. The options are limitless and still keeps the energy high for when your wedding day comes.

Schedule Your Trial For 2-3 Months Before Your Wedding Day

If you postponed your wedding, I would recommend postponing your trial date as well. The reason being, if it’s close to your wedding day, you will feel confident and secure in the looks you want to try. Sometimes the farther out you do a trial, the more time you have to second guess the look you are thinking and change your mind. This can cause undue stress on you and that’s not something you should feel while planning your wedding day.

So there you have it, some fun ways to keep the excitement going for your wedding day beauty!
