A Guide to Planning Your Wedding Day Look: From Beauty to Fitness
Getting the right hairstyle is vital for your big day
Wedding days are all about looking your best, so having a plan for your big day is an essential part of the preparation process. Whether you’re having a laid-back beach chic wedding or a glamorous five-star do, putting the effort into making your look as perfect as possible is the best way to feel your very best on the big day. So, here are a few ways to plan your wedding look to take the stress out of getting ready.
Set hair and beauty goals
When it comes to your wedding day, your hair and makeup are going to be two of the biggest factors in creating your look. So, if you want long, luscious hair or glowing skin, you need to set your goals in advance. Start investing in your skincare routine and get together with your hairdresser to work out a plan for any long term hair goals. If you want to be longer, blonder or curlier for your big day then now is the time to put that plan into action. Start researching hair and makeup artists and take a few trials to find the perfect looks. If you are planning on having a fake tan, practice the process several times so that it’s flawless on the day.
Level up your fitness
Getting your body into killer shape is a great way to make sure you look picture perfect. Whether you’ve already got an exercise routine or not, leveling up your fitness goals will push you to achieve more before your wedding. Add a new exercise class to your routine, such as Thai boxing, hip hop dancing, barre or Pilates. Not only will this challenge your body in a new way, but it will also keep your routine interesting.
Work on your posture
When it comes to the big day, every bride wants to see themselves gliding confidently down the aisle. But sometimes our posture can give away our true feelings. If we’re nervous or scared, the tendency is to hunch the shoulders forward in order to protect ourselves and make our bodies feel smaller. If you work in an office or your job involves a lot of sitting down, then this may already be a problem for you. Luckily there are plenty of ways that you can address this. Ensure that your workstation is set up to correct your posture while you work. Incorporate a number of posture correcting exercises into your day and leave notes around the place to remind yourself to stand up tall so that eventually it becomes second nature.
The right look will make you feel like a million dollars
Wear your shoes
If you’re going to splurge on a new pair of shoes for your wedding, it’s a good idea to break them in before you have to wear them. There is nothing worse than having to suffer through a whole day of wearing painful shoes, so don’t leave it until the last minute to find out whether those lovely new shoes are going to ruin your day. Wear them around the house so that they have a chance to mould to your feet properly – just avoid eating or drinking while you’re wearing them so that they don’t get ruined by accident!
Have a dental consultation
When your big day finally arrives, you can be sure that your photographer, family and friends will all have their cameras poised and ready to snap pictures of your beautiful smile. So, it’s only natural to make sure that your teeth are looking at their best. After all, those photos will last a lifetime! So, check in with your dentist to see if there’s anything you can do about chipped, cracked, or stained teeth before the wedding. Start any whitening treatments early as they can take several weeks, so it’s best not to leave it until the last minute. Maintain good oral hygiene and eat plenty of apples and raw veggies to help clean teeth. Avoid food and drinks that are likely to stain teeth, such as red wine, coffee and barbecue sauce.
From your skincare routine to wearing in your shoes, there are plenty of ways to get your wedding day look prepared before the day. Then all you have to do is make sure you get there on time!
