When You Should Start Booking Your Beauty Team
First off, I would like to say congratulations! This is an exciting time in your life and you should enjoy it. Now that you are engaged, I am sure you have lots of ideas for the wedding day and lord knows all the planning that is going to take place in the next few months. If you have a wedding planner, then they will handle much of the organization for when you should have items checked off your list. However, I want to share some of my tips for you as well.
Being a beauty concierge service, it is our job to organize and schedule your beauty services for the day of your wedding. We will match the artists to your needs, organize and schedule them for your day of, handle the timeline for services, as well as, the billing. You don’t have to worry about a thing. All you have to do is relax and enjoy your engagement. So with this in mind, we know a lot about timing and when you should be booking your beauty team for your wedding day. Here is a quick rundown of the timing.
When to book a beauty team?
This may come as a shock, but most hair and makeup artists get booked up 6 months to a year in advance. The really good ones could be booked up even earlier. This is not to stress you out, but to give you an idea of the importance of hair and makeup on your wedding day. Your hair and makeup may only be for one day, but it will be reflected in the photos for a lifetime. Hair and makeup are the foundations for good photos and it is certainly not something you want to be concerned about the day of.
I would recommend researching and booking a beauty team at least 6 months prior to your wedding day. This way you have time to do a trial, and see if you feel comfortable with the artists.
When should you do a trial?
We always recommend a trial. It is the time that you can try different styles of hair or makeup and see what works for you on your wedding day. You want to feel completely comfortable that the artists can achieve the look you are going for. Plus, you want to make sure that you vibe with the artists. You should feel as relaxed as possible on your wedding day.
We recommend doing a trial at least 3 months prior to your wedding. This will allow you enough time to decide which direction you want to go, and if you don’t like the artists, gives you time to switch as well.
Beauty tip: when you arrive for your trial and the day of, your hair should be “dirty”. This means least one day dry, as this will hold your style better.
It’s your day
Your wedding day experience should be completely personal to you, so don’t be afraid to voice your opinion during your trial or the day of. I promise you, the artists will not be offended. They just want to make sure you are completely happy. It is your day and your wedding photos will last a lifetime.
It is the same thing when working with a service like mine. I only seek to make sure you are happy, because you deserve it. If you don’t want to worry about timelines and scheduling, and any other guesswork, feel free to connect. I would love to help any way that I can in making your day completely unique to you.
